How To Make A Cover Button:
You don't need any special tools.
Cut a circle of fabric about a centimeter wider in diameter than the backing piece of the button. Using an embroidery thread sew a running stitch around the outside of the circle close to the edge. Pull the thread so the fabric balloons. Pop in the top of your cover button then pull the thread tight. Tie the thread (double knot) and push the fabric onto the teeth of the top. Push the back of the cover button on until it clicks.
Top Tip: You can use some snippers or the inside of scissor handles to click the back on but be careful not to dent the front of the button!
