I felt that my purchase was confirmed and it was processed within a few days, but I still have no information about how long it will take to get here -- days, weeks?? When I purchase things on-line in the US, they let you track your package to see where it is every day, so if you needed to be home when it is dropped off, you could actually plan for that. I was surprised about how quickly the sewing machine got to my house. The website is very clear and trust worthy! I had all the information I needed about the machine, how it worked and exactly when it would arrive. I bought the 1034D overlock and the XL-5700 sewing machine and i´m very pleased! I´m from Portugal and it only took 5 days to receive the machines and one of them was a holiday.

To order a sewing machine on a Monday (13th. June) for it to arrive on the Wednesday ( 15th. June) is nothing short of amazing !! Considering it had to be sent from Birmingham to central France, this is a service the likes of which I thought did not exist anymore.
I was devastated when my old machine expired on me and I never thought that buying a replacement was going to be the pleasant experience it has been from start to a rapid finish!!!
My 'phone call was answered promptly and courteously as were my queries about the machine I subsequently bought. A "thank you" to Billy!

My sewing table arrived on Friday 17th June 2011, it has a little chip on one corner and there was a couple of small pieces broken off the plastic insert. Thankfully my husband was able to stick the pieces so the insert fits nicely. As for the little bit that is chipped off the corner I will cover with a little white paint so it won't go any further. First class communication - within an hour of placing my order, I had confirmation of despatch and a PDF of my guarantee. Snow caused courier delays of 3 days, and although the courier tracking kept saying delivery would be that day, (my sewing machine bounced around Kent for 3 days in the van, and I stayed in all day for 3 days waiting for it!), G.U.R. was excellent at responding to my emails enquiring about delivery and contacted the courier to find out what was going on. The Brother machine arrived and is absolutely great - despite feeling like something out of a cracker compared with my 1985 tank of a machine, it is a dream to work on, and I am now catching up with unfinished sewing jobs. I used the Which? best buy report in the current issue, and have no regrets at all. The automatic needle threading is a bit tricky, but I will keep practicing. The price was the best on the internet - I saved £80 by buying from G.U.R. rather than from my local shop. Delivery was Very Very Slow, well over a week from order to delivery, poor customer service, Still not resolved the postage issue, where they failed to pay for postage so I had to pay Royal Mail just to be able to collect my parcel, will NOT ever use them again.

I bought the Pfaff select 4 last week 12 July and i am over the moon with it, it is a true work horse! Its very fast and sews over thick wadding at 6oz!! Wish i da bought it sooner.

The courier service to Spain was swift and we received a telephone call the day before deivery to agree a convenient meeting place, given that we live in the countryside (or "Campo" as it is known here in Spain). I am the Head of Art at King Edward School, a sixth form college in Birmingham. I recently had the college sewing machines successfully repaired and serviced by GUR after which I purchased from them a new machine an embellisher, which does not use threads or bobbins but which works soley by using the fibres of the fabrics being stitched together.
