Hope is at hand! It’s the time of year we love at GUR – the worst of the winter weather is behind us (we hope), the days are getting longer and brighter. It’s time for a little more colour in our lives!<\/strong><\/p>\n

With Easter rapidly approaching, it’s the perfect time to have a go at a few projects to sharpen up those sewing skills. There are lots of wonderful suggestions out there in internet land: here are a few that we’ve picked out for you to get you going.<\/p>\n

Drawstring bunny bag<\/h3>\n

These examples are so bright, you’ll need sunglasses! Courtesy of Free-Tutorial.net<\/a> – where you’ll find lots of other wonderful projects – this simple, well explained how-to will help you produce engaging fun drawstring bags in no time.<\/p>\n

We like:<\/strong><\/em> getting the right shape for those ears is vital – so they provide a free bunny ear PDF template.<\/p>\n

DIY Easter Bunny<\/h3>\n

This rather cute project is a brilliant way to turn your sewing scraps into something fun! The Melly Sews website<\/a> presents a well-ordered project. The tutorial video is particularly good.<\/p>\n

Top tip:<\/strong><\/em> use black embroidery thread for the face, using a satin stitch. There’s even a separate link to tell you all you need to know about embroidery stitches<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Bunny face bag<\/h3>\n

We start to get withdrawal symptoms if we haven’t done a tote bag project for a while – they’re just so useful! So this one from the Sew Very blog<\/a> is the perfect excuse to combine fun and usefulness.<\/p>\n
