“I\u00a0have been making keepsakes as a hobby for friends and family for many years, and started a Facebook Group called Blue Teddy<\/a> to share my creations.<\/em><\/p>\n “I purchased my sewing cabinet from GUR Sewing Machines<\/a> a few years ago, a Horn Maxi Outback<\/a>, and I don’t know how I ever managed without it! <\/em><\/p>\n Her go-to sewing machine is made by Elna<\/a> and Kat describes it as “a fantastic machine”. <\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n “I’ve sewn the two lions on it from start to finish, utilising the built in embroidery alphabet to do the names on the lions feet. <\/em><\/p>\n “At the end of my sewing session I can just neatly pack everything away and fold the cabinet up ready for the next day.”<\/em><\/p>\n “My top tip for successful embroidery is good thread. Strong quality thread is essential and I’m a particular fan of Gutermann, I find it works well with this machine. <\/em><\/p>\n “Another useful material not often associated with sewing is cardboard.
