Fuse a piece of wadding to each of them.<\/p>\n<p>Using a fabric marker draw a line down the centre of each piece.\u00a0Attach the \u2018F\u2019 foot to your machine, starting from the centre stitch vertical rows of decorative\u00a0stitches using the edge of your foot as a guide foot. Alternatively you could use a Border\u00a0Guide Foot. <em>All computerised machines have a good choice of decorative stitches.<\/em><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1571\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1571\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1571\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gursewingmachines.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Detail-from-a-GUR-scrap-scissors-case-tutorial.jpg\" alt=\"Detail from a GUR scrap scissors case tutorial\" width=\"800\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gursewingmachines.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Detail-from-a-GUR-scrap-scissors-case-tutorial.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.gursewingmachines.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Detail-from-a-GUR-scrap-scissors-case-tutorial-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.gursewingmachines.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Detail-from-a-GUR-scrap-scissors-case-tutorial-768x480.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1571\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #e3686a;\"><em>For the stitch on the right\u2029 use the 3-way \u2029cording foot \u2029and three \u2029strands of a\u2029 thicker\u2029 decorative \u2029thread.<\/em><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Once the decorative stitching is complete, cut out the following pattern pieces matching the\u00a0centre line on your pattern piece with your centre stitched line.<\/p>\n<h3>Pattern Pieces<\/h3>\n<p><strong>A + B = Main back section<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>B = Front section<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the Front section use pattern piece \u2018B\u2019<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cut 1 x main fabric<\/li>\n<li>1 x lining fabric<\/li>\n<li>1 x wadding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the Back section attach pattern pieces A &amp; B together at line indicated.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cut 1 x main fabric<\/li>\n<li>1 x lining fabric<\/li>\n<li>1 x wadding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cut out the applique flower and attach Heat N Bond to the wrong side. Take off the backing\u00a0paper and position on the right side of the main piece and fuse in position as shown in the\u00a0finished project picture.<\/p>\n<p>Using one of the appliqu\u00e9 stitches, sew round the outer edge of the flower petals <em>(see below)<\/em>.\u00a0Mark the centre of the flower and use decorative stitches to create stamens in the centre.\u00a0French knots were used here, including bridge stitches to make some longer than others.<\/p>\n<p>Use the pattern combine if you have it on your machine, if not use the lock stitch to create a\u00a0single pattern repeat.
