This is about the time of year when the more organised\u00a0amongst you will already have those Christmas decorations sorted. Whether you go for a quietly confident colour co-ordinated theme, or prefer a riot of festive colour, there’s no doubt that the inclusion of hand crafted additions can enhance any seasonal display.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So we thought we’d have a good sort through some of our favourite online festive fun to come up with a combination of decorations, presents and wonderful gift presentation ideas.<\/p>\n

An easy Christmas stocking pattern<\/h3>\n

This is an ideal way to ease yourself into the Christmas sewing zone, courtesy of Amber<\/a> on the Crazy Little Project website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Stockings to hang or give as a gift – or containing gifts. A fun and easy project that typically takes under ten minutes per item. It’s fun and they look great!<\/p>\n

We like:<\/strong> \u201cI started at 11:31 and was finished by 11:39. And that\u2019s while watching Gilmore Girls too! So, here you have it, a very free, easy Christmas stocking pattern and tutorial!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Wine gift bag tutorial<\/h3>\n

You\u2019ll need 2 pieces of fabric measuring 6.5\u201d x 16\u201d for the bag and one piece of 36\u201d x 3\u201d for the tie in this interesting improvement on the card shop shiny paper wine gift bags that are so common these days!<\/p>\n

Easy to follow step-by-step guide with plenty of clear photographs from the Tie Dye Diva blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Look out for:<\/strong> \u201cForm the gussets. Pinch the bottom of the bag on both sides of the bottom seam and pull the front and back layers apart. Line up the bottom seam with the side seam, forming a little triangle as you do so.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

No binding quilted place mats and coasters<\/h3>\n

These look so classy – but bear in mind that the outcome depends on the \u201cwow\u201d factor of the materials that you choose.<\/p>\n

\u201cI used a solid fabric (to keep the directions clear), but a beautiful print fabric would be better\u201d<\/em> advises this excellent Geta\u2019s Quilting Studio tutorial<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The best bit:<\/strong> \u201cQuilted placemates and coasters are quick projects to sew. I bet you will love making them even more if there is a \u201cno-binding\u201d option.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
