Please read the following Terms & Conditions of the GUR Sewing Machines online service agreement carefully.

All references to GUR Sewing Machine's in this agreement shall include the website and all other subsidiary websites which operate under the GUR Enterprise (UK) Ltd entity (UK Company Registration Number 3153051).

Making a purchase off the GUR Sewing Machine website could not be easier. Just browse our online store, click on any items you wish to buy, then scroll down the page and then click the button marked ‘Add To Bag'. If you want to continue shopping you can do so and therefore continue adding items into your bag. Once you have finished shopping click the ‘Checkout' option and you will then be asked for a few details that we need to be able to fulfil your order. You can choose to pay by Credit/Debit card or PayPal. We no longer accept Personal Cheque/Postal Order's.

Next Day Deliveries only apply to our machines including overlockers which are shipped by GUR and are not sent directly by the manufacturer's. Haberdashery/Accessories are not included in the free of charge next day delivery offer. Some items over 1kg may also be eligible for next day delivery.


Contract Information:

Any order/s you make through the GUR Sewing Machine website or our subsidiary websites is/are subject to acceptance and availability, we reserve the right to refuse your order at our discretion. The contract to purchase a product or products is made when GUR Sewing Machine has received and accepted your submitted shopping basket form and has confirmed, via Making a Purchase.  Goods marked as ' 1 Only' or 'Display Model' are subject to an additional e-mail acceptance as there is only one available;

Our Guarantee (UK Mainland only/Excludes certain postcode)

Our Machines are brand new and have a full manufacturer's warranty. Registration may be required. Servicing must be carried out by GUR and not any other service provider. Servicing prices differ for various types of machines (i.e mechanical/electrical) and customer's will also be responsible for delivery/collection charges. GUR will only make a collection/delivery if the sewing machine has its full original packaging. GUR will not accept any other substitute no matter how well a machine is packaged.

All of our demonstration, class room models and A Grade machines also come with warranty, which is the same warranty we give for Brand New machines.

You know that when you purchase a machine from GUR Sewing Machines you are in very good hands. You can stay assured that you can make a purchase with safe peace of mind that not only will you receive a very good deal but also being looked after throughout the lifetime of the machine.

What's covered? Bone-fide faults... as per the manufacturers guarantee. 

What's not covered? There is not a lot that is not covered.  None of our warranty covers misuse, user error or neglect and also excludes wilful damage. Repairs caused by overuse or repairs made necessary by commercial use are also not covered. Also "consumable items" such as belts, bulbs,needle threaders and needles, bobbin cases and needle plates etc as stated on the manufacturers guarantee document. Certain faults such as timing issues are also not covered by manufacture warranties.

All our new sewing machines undergo a pre delivery inspection and are tested for your assurance, so you can be confident that your machine will reach you, ready to tackle the toughest tasks, straight from the box

It has been commonly known that problems on sewing machines and overlockers are down to user error. Customers who have purchased their machine from GUR Sewing Machines can contact us by phone or by email (see contact information) for free help and advice if your machine develops a problem or if you feel the machine is not working as it should. (We will request your order number so to ensure you are a customer of GUR, please note that it is the customers responsibility to keep all invoice numbers and receipts of an order).

If when you call us/email us we find that your machine is in need of workshop attention, we will collect/repair/return your machine to you. Please note that depending on your warranty this may be chargeable or may even be free.

Please check if you are eligible for our free collection - repair and return service, your invoice should let you know if this service is available for you and how long it is available during the lifetime of your machine. Once a machine has been collected we will need to examine the machine to locate the source of the fault. Should we find from our examination that the machine is faulty due to no fault of the user and any parts which have gone faulty are covered by warranty then all work will be carried out under warranty with no charge to the customer.

If the fault is due to misuse, user error or neglect then a charge will be applied to rectify the problem including the costs of any parts needed, labour, collections and re-delivery charges. If charges are applicable they must be paid before a machine is returned to a customer.

In order for us to collect the machine whether it be free of charge or paid for, you must have the full original packaging of the machine including polystyrene. If the machine arrives to us without this packaging we will then not carry out any repair work to the machine. Should the machine arrive damaged by the courier due to insufficient packaging we will not accept responsibility  nor will we return the machine to you.

In the event that the item should need to be returned to ourselves and the original packaging has not been retained, you will be responsible for any costs incurred by couriers to return the machine to ourselves. If this is the case and the machine is damaged in transit, you may also be liable to incur further charges if additional repair's are needed.

Once the machine has been collected and delivered back to us it may take up to 7-14 working days for the examination to be processed. Please be patient as each warranty case is different. On some occasion's we made need to send the machine to the manufacturer which can take a longer time period. We will always try our very best to have any warranty work carried out as quickly and as efficiently as possible to ensure that the time period that our customers are without their machines is kept to a minimal.

Note: When arranging a delivery or collection you must be at home all day on the day of collection/delivery as we cannot offer a specific time for collection or delivery. If we have been supplied with an email address or mobile phone number, you will receive a n email/text message on the day of delivery with an hour time slot of when the courier will be with you to make the delivery or collection. Note that this time slot is specified by the courier company and not by the customer. We will always try our best to accept requests but cannot make promises or guarantees these delivery times will be kept. We do not offer collections or deliveries on Weekends or Bank Holidays. No machines are collected for warranty or repairs from the week commencing before Christmas to the week ending after Christmas. No warranty work will be carried out between this time.

This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

Please note: Non UK mainland customer and certain UK postcodes customers are responsible in getting the goods returned to us and collection once repairs have been carried out.


GUR Sewing Machines guarantee to replace FREE OF CHARGE any mechanical parts which are deemed to be the result of faulty manufacture for a period of your warranty.


A Grades (Refurbished)

GUR Sewing Machines has been authorised to supply overstocks and A Grade sewing machines and overlockers.

A Grade (refurbished) machines are in 'as new' condition. These are machines that have been returned as incorrectly ordered, not required or the machine may have failed on arrival in which case the failed part is replaced. All A Grade machines are checked and tested by qualified engineers before repacking.


Products Damaged in Transit

All products are insured against damage in transit. Prior to being despatched all products are checked by our Quality Control Department in the United Kingdom and are supplied in perfect working order. A sample is sent with the product. In the event of a product arriving damaged or faulty report damage / fault to us as soon as possible, preferably by e mail or fax rather than post, and at any rate within seven working days and NOT BY TELEPHONE.


Part Exchanges

We welcome part–exchanges at GUR Sewing Machines. We offer you to trade in on your old sewing machine, overlocker and embroidery machines for cash against a new machine. We are happy to provide you with a quote for your used item. However we do not require your item to be part of the deal, so if you wish to sell it privately that’s no problem either, the choice is yours. We cannot always offer a part exchange against our cheaper machines. If you have a machine and would like to part exchange it against a newer machine and unsure how to go about this please feel free to call us (0121 359 5335) and we shall explain how much we can offer you and how we will collect the machine from you. Some of our online machine, you can automatically request a part exchange from the drop down menu above the "Add to Bag" button. Depending on the machine you have this will apply a discount to the new machine you are about to purchase by a certain amount. Once you have purchased the machine, your order will be created and a new machine will be delivered at a discounted rate. Once an order has been received and you have opted to trade in your old machine we shall contact you by email or phone to arrange collection, we do try to make the collection at the same time the new machine is delivered to you but we cannot always guarantee this will happen. Please ensure the machine you wish to trade in is boxed in sufficient packaging together with all accessories you have for the machine including foot control and instructions, ready to be collected.. You are only eligible to trade in your machine if your machine is in full working order and is available only for the UK mainland customers.

We always like to point out that it's more likely that you will get more money for your old sewing machine, overlocker, steam press if you can sell it privately,


Price Match Promise on Sewing Machines
  • The product offered by the competitor's website is exactly the same as the one we sell, and is offered on the same terms including free gifts and accessories
  • The product on their website must be in stock and available for delivery immediately
  • Competitors must have the product in stock

  • Our price promise applies to the product only, not delivery or other service

Please note that we will always try our best to match a price where we can we also have the right to cancel an order at any time, including where items have been on offer but have sold out which causes any offers and such to be void.


Promo Codes offered Online

Promo Codes are sometimes offered at certain times of the year to GUR customer's in order to offer them the very best deal's found on the internet and to ensure our prices are not beaten by anyone.


The following conditions apply to Promo Codes:

  •  Promo Codes are not applicable against Agency Machine's as classed by the manufacturers.
  •  Promo Codes are only available for the time periods stated with the code and no longer. If an opportunity is missed by a customer we will not offer further discount after the Promo Code has expired.
  •  Promo Code expiration dates cannot be extended or amended and are final.
  •  Promo Codes cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers, eg If a machine has already been reduced or if you are part exchanging a machine as a discount has already been given in another form.

       Promo Codes can not be used with bundles item's eg a Sewing Machine and Thread Pack.


Platinum Discounts offered Online:
 Platinum Discounts are offered to customers who register and have an account with GUR.
  • Platinum Discounts can only be used against: fabrics, haberdashery, spares, accessories and machine accessories only. (excluded items are machines, overlockers, steam presses or white goods).
  • Platinum Discounts not applicable against Agency Machine's as classed by the manufacturers.
  • Platinum Discounts are only available for the time periods stated.
  • Platinum Discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers or promo codes.
  • Platinum Discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers, eg If a machine has already been reduced or if you are part exchanging a machine as a discount has already been given in another form.

Fabrics Cut To Measurement

Please be aware that we are unable to refund, cancel or exchange cut fabrics and made-to-measure items. Also please order the total amount of fabric required for any given project as we cannot guarantee that more than one order will be cut from the same dye batch.


Change or Cancel an Order

If you need to change details of your delivery address, add items or remove items from your order or cancel it completely, please contact our Customer Services team.

Please quote your order number and order date. If your order has already been despatched, we're sorry that it is not possible to make changes to your order once it has been dispatched. If you'd like to add products to your order, please place a new order for these items.


Returns Policy
"Under the Distance Selling Regulations, if you've received goods and have simply changed your mind about purchasing them, you may return the goods to us alongwith proof of purchase for full credit - items must arrive back at GUR within 28 calendar days of the customer receiving delivery of the items.  These 28 days are broken down into 14 days to cancel the order and 14 days after cancellation to return safely back to GUR. 
Under the Consumer Rights Act, all products - including electrical goods - must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.  If you feel that the goods are faulty, under the Consumer Rights Act you have an early right to return goods that are unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described and get a full refund. This right is limited to 30 days from the date you took ownership of the goods (this could be the date of purchase or the date the goods were delivered to you - whichever is later).  After the initial 30 days, you cannot demand a full refund in the first instance, but you still have the right to a repair or replacement for your item.

GUR will not accept responsibility for loss or damage of any product being returned by the customer, therefore we recommend you use a secure and insured parcel delivery service.


  • The item(s) must be returned unused.
  • You must inform us of your desire to cancel as soon as possible preferably by e-mail with your order details, rather than post, and at any rate within 14  working days after receiving the item.
  • You pay the return delivery charges (we pay return charges for faulty or substituted items).
  • Delivery/Collection costs will not be credited
  • Refunds on used items will only be accepted on faulty items. 
  • We will credit your account as soon as possible after the goods are returned and within a maximum of thirty days. 
  • Software unsealed by the consumer cannot be returned.
  • Goods are returned with all the original contents and packaging and in a like new condition,if you have opened the box to examine the product you must have done so without damaging or marking the product or packaging in any way. (A charge may be made to bring the item back to as new condition). 
  • If the product returned is not in condition to be able to be resold as new or the packaging is damaged, we reserve the right to refuse a refund on the item, or deduct  20% of the original selling price from the refund amount. This does not affect your statutory rights
  • Domestic machinery is for household use only, refunds cannot be given if machinery is used for business purposes.
  • All items must be returned in original packaging for full refunds to be considered.Any FREE gifts received with the product must also be returned intact.
  • If goods are refused by us, because the above criteria are not met, we'll return them to the customer and also charge the customer's credit card for the value of the carriage.
  • Though in some cases we offer delivery, if an item is returned to us we have the right to deduct the packaging and postage costs from the refund back to the customer
  • Fabric that is cut to customers measurements is not refundable.

Tax Charges

20% VAT is included in all prices. Our VAT registration number is 547521146.

Credit Card Security

We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet.

All payment card numbers are encrypted when the order is placed using 128 bit Java encryption. This encryption begins at the form where you are asked for your credit card details. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Your information is not stored on an internet active computer so your details cannot be accessed by a third party.

WEEE Regulations

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.

The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.

Much of the UK’s WEEE ends up in landfill, where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.

Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.

Distributors of new Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites.

GUR Sewing Machines is obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new Electrical or Electronic product from us.

For example, if a customer bought a new sewing machine from us we would accept their old sewing machine and prevent it going into a landfill site by disposing of it safely. Customers must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item.

Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol shown below:

Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.

For more information regarding purchases that are made through a credit provider, customers should check the terms and conditions on the contracts provided from the finance providers.  These agreements are directly between the customer and the finance provider - customers should contact the provider regarding any questions regarding terms and conditions, cooling off periods and early repayments directly.
