I’ve had this machine a few months now, because I wanted to give it a proper use before leaving my review. I bought this machine for free motion quilting, to use on my Freestyle quilting frame - I’d been using a Brother NV1800Q (which also doubles as my main sewing machine) but wanted more throat space.
I used the Novum straight out of the box to quilt a bed sized quilt, and I’m really impressed with it. I’ve used Brother machines for more than a decade and was a bit nervous to buy a machine from a brand unknown to me, but the Novum actually performs better than the Brother with quilting. The Brother seemed to require a specific combination of needle, thread and speed to get good quality results, but the Novum performed perfectly with whatever combination I gave it - not a single skipped stitch, thread nest, or snapped thread throughout the whole quilt, not even over the thick seams. I’m extremely impressed with it and am so glad I bought it. Yes it’s big, but it feels really solidly built and performed exactly what I asked of it without drama. 10/10, and if you’re thinking of buying it, you won’t be disappointed.

The company were very helpful and the delivery was ultra quick. I love this machine. It’s so easy to thread just a push off button and whoosh it’s threaded. Needle threader too. It’s quiet and has the whole range of overlock stitches. A good price too. Great machine, great service.

Sadly my ideas were dispatched earlier than the date I asked for so were delivered while I was away visiting family. Nevertheless the items purchased are as described and fantastic to use.

This machine is excellent. The price was excellent too. It has replaced my original sewing machine. The size of the throat space is really good for quilting. It stitches beautifully and copes with fabric from cotton to upholstery material. I would definitely recommend this sewing machine.

Delighted with my Brother storage bag. Haven’t used it yet as I’m still playing with my new machine. I’m sure when I need to store it away it will be very safe in the trolley. It is extremely well made and looks really good too!

From start to finish my experience ordering my machine and accessories from GUR was easy and seamless. My machine arrived in a very timely manner, and in one piece - well wrapped up and ready for the off! Admittedly due to illness I haven't used it as much as I would like over the months, but that changes now! The Janome HD9 II is really a gamechanger when it comes to stitching through layers of fabric or leather. It doesn't bat an eyelid! The stitch quality remains on point, and this is consistent even when the thickness of what is being sewn varies. The finish it delivers is markedly more professional.

I delayed buying this machine for months...I shouldn't have. It really is a cut above what is out there. Thank you GUR for such a swift delivery, and in spite of the delay in using my purchase I am glad I took the leap in buying it: it has already made a difference.

Extreemly disappointed with the GUR service this time, having ordered a replacement overlocker plate on 29th Sept it arrived on the 8th Oct but, an incorrect part. As the complaint procedure is conducted on line and not by phone, 24hours later after sending photos of the incorrect part, I was promised that a correct part would be sent, to date it has not arrived, over two weeks is
an unreasonable length of time to wait for snail delivery.

I have only praise for the helpful person I spoke to on the phone and then with great guidance I managed to order on line and a new wire and foot pedal arrived in a couple of days. Bliss! I can now sew without wriggling the wire for contact and I should have done this months ago. thank you.

Easy to use website with a great selection. I was just looking to purchase some bobbins but found the fabric section and decided to treat myself. The fabric is beautiful and delivery was super quick. I will be back.

Came back to GUR to purchase my Janome 6234XL overlocker, having already purchased my Janome 5060QDC sewing machine from them. They can’t be beaten on price and their customer service is second to none. I can’t recommend them highly enough. Would only purchase my sewing machines from here.

Good quality items & as described. Happy with the price charged, cheaper than I'd seen elsewhere, too. My first order with the company & happy it was based reasonably local to me in the Midlands, however I was disappointed in dispatch time, hence only 4☆ rating, I do understand that it may have been a busy time but to take a week to dispatch a small order was disappointing, I have received order from China quicker!! Once in the system, however, delivery was quick. I would recommend as long as not in a hurry for order, maybe the delay was because it was my first order, I don't know?

The entire experience of purchase from these guys was positive. Delivery was delayed but that was not the fault of GUR. Overlocker is so easy to use and the difference it’s made to my sewing is huge.

I am very pleased with my purchase. GUR are a great company to deal with. They always answer queries in a prompt friendly manner.
The machine arrived next working day. I used it a couple of days later, as wanted to give it my full time and attention.
It hemmed stretch material like a dream.
It came pre threaded, but I have since threaded it myself, which was easier than threading as overlocker, although I do have the hang of that particular machine now.
I am looking forward to making lots of items and giving them a professional finish.
The machine was on offer and it came with a free carrier, which is brilliant for transporting and keeping machine dust free.
Highly recommend GUR.

I went to the NEC in Birmingham for the Festival of Quilts; I was impressed with the whole day.
The stall for horn furniture was also there, and they had the sewing chair. I had been looking at the chair online, but there were a few negative comments about the comfort, so i had a sit-on one, and i found it comfortable compared to the office chair at home.
I have an account with GUR Sewing Machines. I bought my Novum longarm from them, and the service I have received on all my purchases has been excellent; if there is a problem, they email straight back or call,
And the luxury of paying over a few months, as the chair is expensive, but you get what you pay for; I bought the one that can go high as I have a bad back and thought when I am at my cutting table, I would be a lot better off not having to stand for a long time. So, if you are considering buying this chair, I recommend the Horn sewing chair

I am so pleased with this table it's perfect for the space I have. It is sturdy and well made. My husband assembled it and was impressed with the the high quality fixings. My machine fits in perfect with the perplex inset, which sits on metal pegs not flimsy plastic ones. The table and chair I ordered at the same time work great together.

My husband saw this on your website and thought it would be a good fit, as I was looking for a new machine. Checked it out as machine site were new to me. Using the site was easy straight forward and quick once placed my order was quick to arrive. On arrival machine was as described and on using exceeded my expectation. I was looking for fabric and this website caught my eye.
I was impressed to find so many options. I entered a search for pink fabric and was not disappointed. The choice was so good that I purchased two different fabrics. The price was reasonable.
I received an email to show that my payment had gone through and then another email to let me know that my fabric had been dispatched.
When it arrived I was very pleased with how good the fabric was compared with the website and how good the quality was.
In light of that purchase, I have bought more fabric from GUR.

I am very pleased with my new machine. After a tentative start, I soon was able to make progress with help from Palma at the support team. I appreciate the extended space between the needle and the arm which enables more bulky sewing easily. The added level space of the optional surround table is also helpful in keeping the material flat and easy to manipulate. I am now progressing to free embroidery which I have done before and have had no problems transferring to my new machine.

Excellent service, received a phone call beforehand to confirm which day delivery was best and instructions of where to find us was carried out perfectly. Overlocker purchased has been a good investment already and easy to use. Will be first port of call if a new sewing machine is needed. Thank you.

Have had my new machine for a couple of weeks now. Really lovely very quiet and smooth. Does all the things you need especially the thread cutter push a button and bingo ends all cut of. My only moan is the flimsy dust cover that won't last.very long.

If you are undecided don't be the service was great ordered one afternoon arrived the next morning.

I was using it in less than 24hours.

Never used an overlocker before choose this one as it can do a few different stitches and I’m very pleased with it, there is a video on YTube which explains threading & other things which is fantastic to refer to, I did need support as I thought it didn’t work but I had threaded it incorrectly when I changed thread colour & GUR responded really fast, it came with extra feet & a good quality bag to carry it in & comes already threaded I would definitely recommend this.

I spent some time looking for an overlocker that is the right price and would give me a professional finish to my garments. I sew as a hobby so did nt want to spend too much and needed information on various machines in order to compare the different models.

I bought this machine to replace a very old Toyota. It took me a while to get my head around everything this overlocker would do. Having experimented with both woven and stretch fabrics I can only say how impressed I am with the quality and functionality. It does everything I need for making clothes with a proffesional finish for both adults and children in my family. Excellent value for money.
I spent quite some time comparing machines and, only having a small budget, am so pleased I bought this one. After sales service has been brilliant. The machine is solidly built, all metal. I am very pleased with it.
I am not too impressed with DHL deliveries, but I did get the machine. They don't do weekend deliveries.
