Review for: Gritzner Tipmatic 1037 IDT Heavy Duty Sewing Machine

This machine is a game changer for me. Very much early days yet, but I'm staggered by the stitch quality and the ease with which it sews multiple layers. The IDT is like nothing I've ever experienced on a sewing machine. Tonight I sewed through two layers of batting along with two layers of thick coated upholstery fabric, (a dog bed that I cut out ages ago but then avoided sewing with my old machine because it just wasn't man enough) and with the Gritzner, I was virtually able to let go of it. It just sailed through the fabric at considerable speed, and it still sewed in a straight line! I like that it's mechanical. I'm of a mind that there's less to go wrong and it will last. Very nice machine, unbeatable price for a long arm, I cant fault the stitch quality, it is nice to be able to use a manual stitch, comes with a very clear easy to use instruction book. I have used it twice once for a P.V.C.. clear foot holder with a bias bound edging & also a lavender heart shaped plaque made from suede and sequined voile. I am looking forwards to using the free hand embroidery also make the odd bag or two, larger item's like Duvet cover's and replacing my cushion's. as I believe this machine is the one for the job as it uses up to 1,000 S.P.M., I found a lot of the Brother accessories compatible which is nice also you can make button holes as large as you like. Although I have not made full use of all its capabilities, this is a lovely machine that stitches absolutely perfectly. Setting it up takes a while, but it is well worth it. This is a very heavy machine that needs 2 people to move it around. The team at GUR have been outstanding. I purchased my machine on a Sunday night for a Tuesday delivery and I received a call on Monday morning asking if I wanted to receive it early. I was given a timeframe and the member of the team that delivered it called when he was 45 minutes away to give me a heads up. Then followed instructions to deliver it safely. All in all a purchase well worth the money, I am so pleased I went with GUR over any other company!

I wanted a basic machine with a large throat space to use on my new Cutie Breeze Quilting frame.

I’m very happy with the machine.

I haven’t used it on the frame yet as I wanted to use the machine on its own first to get used to it but I’ve a few things on it now and I’m very happy with it.

The size of the throat is great, looking forward to using it on my frame, hopefully next week 😊

I am very pleased with my purchase.

GUR are a great company to deal with. They always answer queries in a prompt friendly manner. The machine arrived next working day. I used it a couple of days later, as wanted to give it my full time and attention.

It hemmed stretch material like a dream. It came pre threaded, but I have since threaded it myself, which was easier than threading as overlocker, although I do have the hang of that particular machine now.

I am looking forward to making lots of items and giving them a professional finish.

The machine was on offer and it came with a free carrier, which is brilliant for transporting and keeping machine dust free.

I am very pleased with my new machine. After a tentative start, I soon was able to make progress with help from Palma at the support team. I appreciate the extended space between the needle and the arm which enables more bulky sewing easily. The added level space of the optional surround table is also helpful in keeping the material flat and easy to manipulate. I am now progressing to free embroidery which I have done before and have had no problems transferring to my new machine.

I have been impressed with the Novum Pro Q9 Long Arm Sewing Machine. The delivery was fast, the packaging perfect and the machine undamaged and ready to go. I needed the machine as a portable unit for sewing canvas boat covers. I am not professional, but own two boats that seem to have a lot of canvas! I have just replaced a window in one of the covers and the machine coped very well. I have had to do a slight modification as my sewing twine comes on a 5000m cob that does not fit the machine, but the fix was easy. I have an Adler heavy duty machine set up in my garage, but that may be obsolete now. The Novum Walking Foot is still to be judged. I am not wholly convinced it is an improvement on the standard foot although maybe I am being unfair as it was working on plastic see-…

I bought this machine because I am a quilter and needed a machine with a bigger throat space and as few fancy stitch options as possible. I was not disappointed. This is a wonderful machine that sews like a dream. The stitch precision is fantastic as is the tension. Feeding the fabric through is very smooth and I could not be happier. The machine is extremely good value for money; even more so since I bought it on sale (and it came with a free extension table). The service from GUR was exemplary. I sent two emails with questions and got a swift reply. I was a bit of a nuisance asking them to double check a measurement, and they did. In short, I cannot recommend the shop or the machine enougth, and I look forward to many years of joyful sewing.

I had a few questions before ordering, which were answered promptly, with the information I needed to help me make a decision.My machine arrived within 24 hours, very well packaged. I worried about ordering this coverstitch, a) because I hadn't used this company before. And b) I had never heard of Gritzner machines. The coverstitch was less than half the price of the cheap coverstich machines and you usually get what you pay for.. I researched gritzner and realised the company had been bought out by Pfaff years ago, who were obviously using the name as budget entry model. Ordered online and paid via my phone Gpay. Delivered at lunchtime the following day. The Coverstitch does everything I want it to once I got used to the different way of sewing. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended 👌

Used for about a week now and it is performing very well. Only very minor issue I have found is that the thread cutter cuts threads too short which results in the thread pulling out of the needle.

Heavy Duty at it's best. Many layers of canvas is no problem. Very nice machine. I’ve not tried all the stitch options, but it’s so much easier and quieter to use than my previous Janome machine. Already made one patchwork cushion.

Janome hd2200 arrived next day via DPD Next Day. The outer packaging was much too big and was in a poor state which seemed to have caused some damage to the inner Janome packaging which was loose inside the main outer. Fortunately the Janome inner styrene foam protected the sewing machine which operated very well without any apparent malfunction. Overall an excellent machine. I tried all the major functions; buttonholing, button sewing, over edging,etc.. and I was particularly impressed with the needle threading facility. Well pleased !!

This is such a lovely machine. I am a professional dressmaker and have industrial machines as well and bought this machine mainly for buttonholes and zig zag stitch but I find myself using it for general making as well. It is a heavy base, does not jump around, has a purring sound, has easy function with threading and bobbin winding. The auto buttonhole is excellent and it's easy to change stitches. The stitching and tension has been perfect on all stitches. I really am delighted with this and it sits nicely next to my Janome overlocker. Great product.
