We have been absolutely delighted by the incredible creations our customers have shared with us this month.
When we launched our Customer Creations of the Month, the plan was to choose one winner for July. However, after seeing the quality, creativity and sheer amount of work that had gone into this month’s entries, choosing just one proved far too difficult!
So, for July, we decided to do something a little different.
Instead of one winner, we’ve chosen three – with each receiving a £50 GUR Sewing Machines voucher to spend on our website.
Congratulations to Gill Rowlands, Paula Robinson and Rae Morgan, our three Customer Creations of the Month for July!
🏆 Gill Rowlands – Handmade Cuckoo Clock

Gill Rowlands – Handmade Cuckoo Clock
Gill impressed us with this wonderfully detailed handmade cuckoo clock.
It’s a fantastic example of just how creative sewing and textile crafts can become. From the intricate detailing around the clock face to the decorative flowers and traditional styling, there’s so much to look at.
The level of detail really caught our attention and made Gill’s creation stand out amongst this month’s entries.
Gill was using the Brother Innov-Is Stellaire XJ2 Sewing and Embroidery Machine
Congratulations Gill – you’ve won a £50 GUR Sewing Machines voucher!
🏆 Paula Robinson – Embroidered Hare

Paula Robinson – Embroidered Hare
Paula’s incredible embroidered hare is another creation we simply couldn’t overlook.
The detail in the embroidery is fantastic, particularly around the hare’s fur, eye and facial features. Combined with the subtle woodland background, the finished piece has an almost illustrated quality while still retaining the beautiful texture that makes embroidery so special.
It’s a brilliant demonstration of what can be achieved with patience, creativity and machine embroidery.
Paula was using the Janome HD9 Professional Sewing and Quilting Machine
Congratulations Paula – you’ve also won a £50 GUR Sewing Machines voucher!
🏆 Rae Morgan – Handmade Quilted Handbag

Rae Morgan – Handmade Quilted Handbag
Our third July winner is Rae Morgan with this beautiful handmade quilted handbag.
We loved the combination of the deep green quilted fabric, patterned shoulder strap and contrasting floral detail. The diamond quilting gives the bag a wonderfully professional finish, and it’s a great example of creating something that’s both practical and completely unique.
It’s certainly a bag we’d be proud to say we’d made ourselves!

Congratulations Rae – a £50 GUR Sewing Machines voucher is heading your way too!
We Couldn’t Choose Just One!
The original idea behind Customer Creations of the Month was simple: each month we’d showcase some of the fantastic projects being created by GUR customers and select one overall winner.
We weren’t quite prepared for how difficult that would be!
The standard of July’s entries was so high that we felt it would be unfair to limit it to just one creation.
So this month we have awarded:
Gill Rowlands – £50 GUR Voucher
Paula Robinson – £50 GUR Voucher
Rae Morgan – £50 GUR Voucher
That’s £150 worth of vouchers awarded to our talented customers this month.
A huge congratulations to all three of our winners.
Thank You for Sharing Your Creations
One of our favourite things about the sewing community is seeing what people actually make with their machines.
A sewing or embroidery machine might leave our shop in a box, but that’s really only the beginning of its story.
Seeing it used to create clothing, quilts, bags, embroidery, gifts, home furnishings and completely original projects is what makes sewing such a rewarding hobby.
We’d therefore like to say a massive thank you to everyone who submitted a creation during July.
Even if you weren’t one of this month’s winners, please keep sharing your work with us. We genuinely love seeing what you’ve been making.
Could You Be Our Next Winner?
Have you recently completed something you’re particularly proud of?
Whether you’re a complete beginner or you’ve been sewing for decades, we’d love to see it.
It doesn’t have to be perfect, complicated or created using the most expensive machine. We’re looking for projects that demonstrate creativity, imagination and a love of making things.
Your next project could be one of our future Customer Creations of the Month.
So get sewing, get creating and, most importantly, don’t forget to show us what you’ve made!
