• Just treated myself to a new overlocker Novum Supa Lock 087D, can you tell me the difference between the Jaguar 097 and my machine please. Lynn

  • Hello Lynn, the difference is in the tensions, the Novum Supa Lock 087D is much easier to thread than the Jaguar and better tensions. The Novum Supa Lock is the newer version of the Jaguar 097. The built quailty is exactly the same.

    If you search the following product on our website, "Overlocker Needles Mixed 80-90 5pk" , those Overlocker needles will be fine for the Jaguar 487.

• What's the difference between the cheaper and more expensive Jaguar overlocker models? What does the higher price tag give me?

  • The Jaguar 487 is considerably more quieter, due to newer type of bearings in the shafts and it's a slightly more heavier duty machine, it's replaced the following models:

    • Jaguar 096
    • Jaguar 097
    • Jaguar 2015

• Can you tell me if this machine does cover stitch? If so, do you sell the cover foot attachment and what does it cost? Thank you.

  • Unfortunately this machine does not do cover stitch, you would need a cover hem machine or a coverlocker in order to do this.

• Would this machine be the best if I only sew soft furnishings ,loose covers etc? My Pfaff creative sewing machine is nearly 30 yrs old and much loved but needs a service. We are driving back to U K in november and I would love it to be serviced while we are there. We will be in Chiswick London and Loughton essex. The pfaff shop in Toulouse has closed sadly and I do not trust the all makes repaired guy on the market!

  • I would recommend using the Jaguar487 Overlocker, the reason for this is because it’s a newer, up to date version of the 097.  It can handle soft furnishing materials quite comfortable as it’s a semi industrial machine. Also the Open Front Thread System makes it a lot easier to thread compared to any of the other overlockers.
