Brother Sewing Machines

I've been sewing for several years now, and GUR has always been my go-to for all my sewing needs. Their customer service is second to none—always incredibly helpful when I need advice, and delivery is consistently prompt and reliable. I’ve had this machine for just over a week, and I’m totally smitten. It may only do one stitch, but it does it brilliantly. I’m currently breezing through a large quilt with ease, and the results are fantastic. Highly recommend!

The Brother Innov-Is A150 machine is simply amazing, more importantly the right one for me. I did do a fair bit of research prior to picking this exact brand and model, there was a bit of gliche with the delivery process which was very quickly sorted. I've already completed my first quilt within a week of having the machine and it has worked like a marvel. Troubleshooting and other instructions are freely available and there's no issue accessing this information, as and when required. Cannot wait to get going with some more projects soon!

Purchased the Innovis F480 shortly after its introduction many years ago. Sadly in October of 2023 she met with a fatal accident. Looked at various machines in the range, decided the F580 would meet my needs. I can download and/or purchase additional embroidery designs as and when, A wide range of stitches to suit everyone from utility to embroidery and alphabets . Easy to use and understand. A novice could sew within an hour. There is guidance built into the machine. The manual is easy to read and follow, read through it first and try things out. After watching numerous video tutorials, I can confidently say that this machine is excellent, fulfilling all my requirements and more. Having had the machine a few weeks and taken time to get used to its various functions (but not all of them yet!) I have to say I am extremely happy with it. Apart from it looking sleek and ergonomic I love the full colour screen, and video tutorials, the simple, clear way each stitch is described and the modifications you apply (length, width) are displayed on screen as you alter them so no guessing! Using it for quilting a lot of the time the long throat length is perfect, and it has an impressive array of feet and attachments. A nice touch is being able to drop the feed dogs for FMQ from a button on the LCD display screen - no removing the extension table and reaching round to the back of the machine for an up/down lever. I’m making a handmade wardrobe and wanted to upgrade a basic machine with one that does buttonholes, bar tacks and utility stitches. After quite a bit of research I decided on the Brother A16 as it seems to be a well built machine with functions that I’ll find useful for sewing jeans, jackets, shirts etc. I particularly like that it copes well with heavy fabrics like denim due to the 7 piece feed dog, and that it has a 1 step auto sizing buttonhole function with 3 buttonhole styles. I also like the ease of the automatic needle threader, the start/stop button, the speed slide control, and the jog dial stitch selector. I have just bought the machine, and I am very pleased with it so far. There is quite a lot to learn, but I am working through the book. I liked the way the machine dealt with quite heavy fabric, easily.

I got this after a friend had done all the research whilst looking for a more sophisticated machine for her daughter’s university course. This model was perfect for me. It’s basic but not too basic and the automatic threader is brilliant. The website was easy to use and my new machine was delivered within a couple if days of being ordered on Boxing Day. As I had been to John Lewis and they had absolutely no sewing machines in stock I was thrilled to get this.

I have not had a new machine since I was 18 - then spent the last 25 years wearing out machines family cast-offs so when my last second hand machine bit the dust I decided the time had come to treat myself. However lockdown put paid to the in store experience so a neighbour lent me her Brother LX17 - a basic machine but impressive and my first experience of a Brother. After many many hours reviewing different models and now looking to incorporate one that was easy enough for my daughter to learn to machine sew with and to meet my current needs I chose the Innov-is NV15. The Brother Innovis A50 is a great machine and the service from GUR was also great. From my first call to Palma who answered the phone to me, I have nothing but praise for this company. My friend told me about it, and it was a great choice. I haven't used/tried the machine much yet, but what I have has been great. The self threading device has come on wonderfully in recent years, and for anyone who knew this self threading device years ago and knew how difficult it was, this is totally different. Just fantastic and soooo easy.

Really enjoyed the volume of information that the site had for all machines. Helped make a decision much easier. Found the user reviews helpful too. Ordering was a breeze and delivery was as promised. Haven't unpacked and used the machine yet though but do trust the Brother brand so am looking forward to trying the machine out in the near future.

This was a fantastic upgrade from an old Brother 8015. I'm so happy with the machine: it's really easy to use, has all the stitches I need, and it's really quiet. GUR sent out the machine really quickly (and for free) and it only took a couple of days to arrive.

I got this as a replacement for my 30 year old brother machine, oh how I wish I had purchased this machine earlier, it is so smooth, quiet and easy to use, and the scissor function well it is wonderful. The service I received from GUR in Birmingham was second to none I highly recommend the machine and the shop.

This is an absolutely amazing machine, I did a lot of research before I bought this particular one and I looked at all the range. This one for me ticked all the boxes and more. It is lightweight at 6.4kg excellent for moving around. The best feature for me is the auto needle threader I am blown away with it. It is even better than my other branded machine! When you are looking for a new sewing machine it is important to research them even the other models and it is also important to know what features you want. And for me this was it. It is also good to have a budget.

I am fairly new to seeing (dug out my old sewing machine over lockdown) and had just caught the bug when it died on me. I felt like I needed advice and read a lot of reviews online, but also wanted extra reassurance (my old machine wasn’t computerised) and so also rang gur for advice. They were very responsive and super helpful, and my new machine was with me 24 hours later. I love it. A huge and unexpected bonus is the fact I can sew without the foot pedal adjusting the speed manually - great to not have the lead underfoot as I frequently need to move my machine on and off the table. A very neat quiet and efficient sewing machine which has since purchase helped produce 30 masks and an apron, At present have not used many of the specialist stitches, but they look good. So far the machine has proved very easy to use.

It was a shame that the pressing mat was not available and would also suggest it might be useful to add a packet of bobbins to your 'offers' when purchasing a new Sewing Machine. I bought this new machine to replace an old 25 year old singer. Wow! Wishing I had upgraded sooner. It’s quiet and smooth and does much more than is really needed. I haven’t mastered all of the stitches yet and I’m not sure the lettering is as good as it seems but I would definitely pick this machine again.

This is a great machine, as I already own three other Brother machines (one embroidery machine and three sewing machines counting this one) I have found that it is easy to use, good sturdy machine that will sew through a range of fabrics without any problem. I use this machine for my quilting classes as it is light enough to carry in my machine bag. Easy bobbin and top threading and with having other Brother machines they all operate the bobbin and top thread the same way so there is no problem of having to re-think how to thread which is a great benefit to the sewer.

This is a lovely machine and is lightweight which makes it easy to carry to class or around the home, with a good variety of stitches. It’s very simple to use and much easier than my large much more expensive machine. I would recommend this machine to novice and experienced sewer. If using for quilting you may wish to purchase a walking foot separately so consider that. Equally it does not come with a free motion foot. Both of these are available from main suppliers and on line. Tension, threading and bobbin winding all happen with ease.

I originally bought a Brother sewing machine, and it was very good, but I ideally wanted one that was more robust. I decided on a different brand, but that was front loading bobbing, and that was a nightmare for me. This is the machine for me. Top loading easy load bobbin. Automatic back stitch lovely movement and quite quiet. Very good beginner's sewing machine.

chuffed to bits with my new Brother sewing machine, it is years since I last used a sewing machine so did not want one which was to complicated.It is of very good quality, I purchased the carry bag at the same time, so very good value.
