The Janome 6234XL Overlocker is the most advanced overlocker made by Janome. It has two needles and can be used as 2, 3 or 4 thread overlocking incorporating the differential feed ratio is adjustable from .05 to 2.25, providing increased control for handling all types of fabrics. Threading is simple, with colour coded guides and a self threading lower looper. The 6234XL switches to rolled hemming without changing the needle plate.

Hi there, I am comparing this machine and the Jaguar 489. What are the differences in the spec of the two? Does this machine do a rolled hem?

- Built quality, stitch functions, stitch leith, differential feed is the same. Both machines will do 2, 3 and 4 thread overlocking plus the built in rolled hem. Jaguar 489 opens up completely which makes the threading lot easier, to clean and maintain the overlocker the Jaguar wins hands down because of the 180 degree opening.

I bought the Janome overlocker after a recommendation. It’s a fantastic machine, easy to use and thread. Ive rethreaded it already and it’s easy with the manual. I’m still getting to work with the machine. It’s quieter than a practice machine I tried and after many months of deliberation I opted for this one as my first overlocker. The GUR sewing company have been flawless and very helpful throughout

This is the first overlocker I’ve bought, I am very pleased with it. I have had sewing machines all my life, but thought I’d treat myself to a new addition. It is very good and easy to use, the only thing I haven’t done yet is actually thread it , l just tie my new cotton and pull it through. I’m looking forward to all the new things I can do with this machine.

Bought to replace my thirty year old Bernina Overlocker. Unable to go out and try makes and models. So decided to order online and go by reviews. Not disappointed the machine arrived within twenty four hours. Up and running the same day. Only a few differences from my old machine. I have even had occasion to rethread the lower looper which I did with the help of the DVD provided.

This is my first overlocker, so I have a lot to learn on how to use it. I even read the instructions, a first for me ! So far I have found the threading up process a bit of a challenge, fortunately, to make it easier, its colour coded. I am looking forward to getting to know more about overlocking with what seems a well designed machine, and the service from Gursewing is great.

Fantastic little machine that works straight from the box! 4, 3 and 2 Thread stitches are all very effective and the rolled hem is very nicely done. If you haven't used overlockers very much before, the instruction DVD that comes with it is very clear and very useful - especially for helping you understand the huge range of things that can be done with this machine. It is a well established design from Janome, who must have sold 1000's of these beauties. Tension setup on this machine is consistent and smooth - a real plus! Solidly built and very nice quality I would recommend this machine to anyone needing a good solid workhorse machine. Well worth the price difference compared with cheaper machines!

Good Points It is 2 3 or 4 thread (I mainly use 3) easy to thread as it is colour coded. a bit fiddly but you soon get the hang of it. Knife can be dropped easily. Assorted feet for piping, gathering etc. Bad Points I can not think of any thing. General Comments The Janome MyLock 634D has been my only overlocker. I have had mine twelve years with no problems. I worked in a machine shop when I bought it and I could have had any one. But I demonstrated this as a favourite. Just hope it keeps going for another 12 years

Janome MyLock 634, once mastered is the easiest over locker that I have ever threaded changing to rolled hem is easy and quick can watch on tv how to... this is extremely helpful this machine is GREAT!!!
