After watching a zoom presentation with a local quilting group by Dee from Pixel Quilts, I decided to make a pixel quilt of Freddie Mercury for my BFF's 60th Birthday and Threadie Mercury is the result. More than 8 hours of cutting 2789 pieces, and 60 plus hours of sewing.
The piecing was done in blocks and I sewed one row at a time, adding to the row before to keep in order, only one block placed the wrong way round while I was chatting! Luckily spotted before quilting.
My friend didn't have him for very long as he is rather large and I pinched him back, to show Freddie at the FOQ 2025 in The Joy of Sharing section. You can see him again the the SHQA show in September in Brighton. I will give him back after that!!
