Really pleased with my new machine. A huge upgrade on my 20yr old basic Janome but still simple enough to use without too much difficulty. Instruction book really helpful and easy to follow. Stitching is great and I don’t know how I ever managed without a needle threader! Have only used it to make a few small items so far - will be testing it out on curtain making in the next few weeks.

Very impressed by the excellent delivery service from GUR Sewing Superstore! We ordered the machine during lockdown when every sewing machine got sold immediately in front of your eyes. GUR had a great collection to choose from, clear descriptions and quick delivery. The Janome 5060QDC is easy to use and has a clear guidance. Love the hard top cover as it protects the machine better when tidying away when needed.
This review is going to sound so gushy but quite genuinely, this sewing station is the best item I’ve ever bought myself. The thing opens up so beautifully, feels sturdy when being opened and set up too.
I love the way there are several ways to have it; if I’m working by myself just sewing I have it open in a long line, without the drawer pulled out or the back flipped up. But if my daughter is playing with my old sewing machine she sits on the other side of the drawers to do so. When I’m using my cricut machine I flip the back up, and keep the kids closed and sit at the other side of the cabinet to work.
This station is so versatile and you just have the sheer space you need. I commented to my husband shortly after getting it that I was finding my sewing easier because my pattern pieces and blocks seemed to fit more precisely. I think it is because I have the space to cut more accurately and I’m not constantly worrying about time, ie I’m sewing in my living room and with an autistic child I must chop time off my sewing time make sure I tidy absolutely everything out of sight every time. It looks good when folded away, although I have substituted the handles for ones of my own choosing So they fit with my decor. The finish is good, and there is a nice amount of room for sewing sundries inside. A great amount of space for quilting rulers etc too.
The delivery process was quite quick, delivered one week after ordering (though I understand this can vary). The chap who delivered and built it was a joy and very professional. He gave me practical tips on using the station and of course set the height of the gas lift for flatbed sewing. Lastly, the staff at GUR Sewing Machines cannot be faulted. They were responsive, communicative, professional, yet warm and genuinely interested in what I was after from a sewing station. From this experience I already know that when I look for an overlocker near Christmas time, I will look here first.
Now moving to the cons:
1) I had expected the drawers in the pullout section to be deeper, although they are still of a useful size. This probably means there is more space for a larger overlocker under them.
2) The little sticker measuring tape In front of the sewing machine cavity has started to peel. I care not.
3) The storage area on the door will accommodate a standard iron nicely, but will only accommodate an Oliso iron if the iron is stored sole-plate down. Not a hardship for me. There we go; I’ve done what I can to be balanced and that list looks pathetic. Basically this station is now indispensable to me, and has encouraged me to sew a lot more often since I received it. I can quickly ready my machine for a small job, or set up properly to luxuriate in the joy of sewing all day. If you’re on the fence please know that my only regret is that I didn’t know about this station to purchase it any sooner.
I am a seamstress who does almost anything sewing wise. I found this machine to be able to cope with fine and heavy fabrics. I find it easy to use and smooth sewing action. I have found I use a decent amount of the stitches. All the accessories are useful especially the walking foot. I would recommend this machine to both new sewers and experienced.
