Good Points
The web site gives the postal address, landline telephone number and email address. I had a question about my intended purchase, so I telephoned GUR Sewing Machines. The phone was answered quickly, and my query was sorted immediately. As I was already on the phone I placed my order (on a Saturday). They gave me a delivery day of Tuesday, and my machine arrived (free of charge) by courier at my work address as requested on the correct day. The goods were extremely well packaged and secure. The sewing machine also included a free set of 4 scissors with a wooden storage block, 4 1000 yds polyester threads, a tape measure and a carry case for the machine.
Bad Points
Not a bad point really - just a slight hiccup - the foot pedal was missing from the package. This was sorted out quickly over the phone, and she also included a free pack of sewing machine needles for the inconvenience.
General Comments
I can't fault GUR Sewing Machines for good service. Phone calls were answered virtually by the third ring. As I ordered my goods over the phone I cannot comment about online ordering, but the service I received was extremely good, and I thought I got value for my hard earned cash. By the way, I am extremely pleased with my new Janome sewing machine.
I am continuously shopping online and received one of the best possible services from GUR. I called up the helpline and spoke to the sales team.
The gentleman talked me through a range of machines and found me the perfect machine which sew's a dream. Once ordered the machine came the very next day before 12 noon along with a free gift.
Cannot fault the service I have received in the slightest, if only all online purchase were as perfect as this.
I bought a couple of sewing machines from GUR - a Janome Coverlock machine, and a Budget ex-Demo Pfaff Hobbylock 2.0. As it happens, GUR had run our of their ex-demo machines, so they sent me a brand new one without hesitation!I ordered a number of attachments at the same time and I was really impressed that every single item was in stock ( not one item had to remain on back order ) and everything was delivered safe and sound in very short order!
The Janome worked brilliantly straight from the box as you would expect from such a highly respected company. I could not be happier with this purchase!
Unfortunately, I had a number of problems with the Pfaff that appeared to stem from unusual issues with the tension devices on the machine. I ran a number of tests with the machine, cleaned out the tension controls, but it still exhibited significant problems. This is a great shame, as the machine is quite pretty and, when it works properly, produces nice pretty stitches - for an overlocker.
The sales manager from GUR rang me personally and we talked through the specific problems I had in great detail. As a result of that conversation, he agreed to swap the problem machine out, and I upgraded instead to a Janome 6234XL, paying only the difference in price.
Within days, the new machine was with me and worked brilliantly - even on the factory supplied threads with which the machine was supplied. The result is ... one very happy and satisfied customer.
On the evidence of this experience, I would say that GUR take customer service and satisfaction very seriously indeed. I will be going back to them fairly soon for my next purchase - a Janome 6600P!
I was over the moon with service i recieved on purchasing my new sewing machine, i originally ordered a different model, but had message to say it was no longer available and would i like to choose a different one .
The staff were very helpful and i decided on the the Janome 2200xt . All i can say that it is superb , so easy to set up and sews lovely, i had the gold package deal with it, which also received beautiful cottons, pins, scissors needles , tape measure bobbins, just wonderful.
So glad i found you on google and have recommended you to family colleagues. Now thats how a company should be run .

This little table helps with my quilt project and so am very pleased indeed with the service that I have received.
I only had one problem and it was that I wasn't informed of my order being delayed because one item was not in stock.I had to phone to check on my order as a second order I had made on 9th March arrived before the first one.
Other than that I have always enjoyed shopping with GUR.
Although I chose to return the Overlocker, I found all the customer services that I dealt with both friendly and efficient. I would certainly order again in the future should I require any of your products. The reason for return was that I had no idea how noisy the machine was and since I share a room with my husband on computers, it was not conducive.
The service was second to none. Quality of items and despatch times couldn't have been better. I can highly recommend this company.

After a lot of research I decided to go ahead with buying the Janome 6700p. It is a lovely machine and simple to program and use. It sews beautifully. It is the second sewing machine I have purchased from GUR and I am extremely satisfied with the speedy delivery and excellent customer service I received. I hope to have many happy years with my new sewing machine!
I always feel valued by GUR and would not shop anywhere else for sewing articles. Because of the snow this item had been dispatched on 28th Feb but didn’t arrive until March 10th. The day before I had contacted GUR and they immediately sent a replacement package which I have now returned but super service.

I recently ordered the Pfaff Passport 2.0 from GUR... checkout was smooth and easy... also very good price. Once placing order I received an email stating that the machine I ordered was out of stock.... and that they were upgrading me to the higher grade model (also higher priced). the Pfaff Passport 3.0 completely free of charge! Hello . I am afraid that I never made a purchase in the end as I was very unhappy with the way my order was dealt with . I firstly decided to make my order with your company as your advert stated fast delivery ,and items always stocked , so rather than using my Amazon Prime I went with you as I wanted to order this pattern & some bridal materials too a little later ,I ordered the pattern and waited for a couple of weeks ,I wasn't happy then I got an eMail saying it had been out of stock ,Was back in and my order would be with me shortly , so I waited but no pattern , so in the end I rang explaining I was not happy and had it been dispatched ? only to be told no it wasn't in but would be in the next couple of days , I couldn't wait that long ,my daughter is Marrying in 11 weeks time and I have so much to do . I had to ask for a refund and the gentleman did this for me straight away . I told him I was upset over the way this had all gone about and he offered me a voucher code as compensation, Which I cannot seem to find .

I am enjoying working on my second product from you very much which is intended for my Grand daughter. There is just one thing that has puzzled me, there is far more thread than I need.
I could perhaps do with some guidance over the problem of joining the open weave fabric on to material to make the cushion. On the first one , I experienced difficulty in unravelling of the edges as I made the cushion.
Other than that, a satisfied customer!
