Hello Can you fit an extension table to this model, I do a lot of home furnishings and often manage large curtains. I’m looking to upgrade my old Bernina machine to something more professional which can handle dressmaking, simple home furnishings and quilting. Can you suggest what might suit me best. I also have some arthritis in my hands so auto needle threading and cutting would be great. Thank you Jacqui Seymour

I have used this machine to make quilts, dolls clothes and fancy dress costumes. The machine has worked well using a variety of fabrics and thicknesses. I particularly like the variable speed especially when sewing difficult fabrics, ie. sequinned, netting, wadding, leather etc. My machine came with the quilt accessories and the feet are essential if intending to make quilts or do top stitching. You can do this with the machine feet included but the walking foot and open toe foot make this much easier. The machine is easy to use and the manual has clear instructions. The needle threader is a joy to use. The machine is quiet. The embroidery stitches provide endless opportunities to personalise garments and the instruction booklet gives clear guidance on how to combine patterns. Overall a machine that will suit beginners and experts.

Having never used a Janome machine before, I was pleasantly surprised by easy it was to use. I’m an experienced sewer and make bags, and so far it’s copied with all I’ve thrown at it. Even four layers of denim, or vinyl. Need to try out the huge range of stitches next! Overall a good buy!

This is a great all rounder machine for the novice who wants to progress easily. The Atelier is quiet, very well lit with multiple LED lights, able to do simple embroidery which looks really professional. The stitch variety is excellent and you actually use a lot of different stitches easily and they are useful. Thread cutter is a fantastic bonus. Can't live without it now! A really good all round machine, for the amateur to look professional!
