Janome 740DC Sewing and Quilting Machine Description

This Janome Sewist 740DC Computerised Sewing Machine has a wide range of practical features to cope with general sewing tasks. It has an auto one step buttonhole with 3 styles and a wide range of 40 built in stitches, which 20 of these can be chosen by the quick direct selection keys. Simply use the arrow keys below the LCD to access the 20 stitches which aren't directly selectable.

Plenty of features with the Janome 740DC including the drop feed facility for freehand embroidery and quilting, the speed control slider is adjustable for quick or intricate work, the start and stop button allows you to sew without a foot control, whilst the automatic needle threader takes the strain out of threading the needle.

The Janome 740DC is a machine suitable for beginners to experienced sewers because of its versatility, allowing you to cope with a varied variety of sewing projects, such as patchwork, quilting, soft furnishing, alterations and home furnishings. I bought this machine based on it being a best seller. She is a good strong study build and loves to work on woven material. Her stitch selection is nice and is the stitches themselves. This machines in any to noisy either. Although the start up noise is odd! But that said, She does not like twin needle even with a organ needle (for the machine) really dislikes it actually and skips stitches non stop and kills itself. I’ve used it 10 times since getting it on my kids tops to hem or leggings to hem. I avoid using it as I wanted twin needle and a machine happy with stretch fabric and even after a blast of steam it isn’t great. I go for my 1975 sewing machine and she finishes it off for me (twin needle too) after things have been overlocked. Personally I dislike this machine I did when my husband said he picked this one my heart sank. Some machines we mesh with others we don’t. This is my personal opinions of this machine. I have come across one other person with this machine and for a best seller I’m amazed so few have it. If I could fix the twin needle issue I may begin to like it possibly but we’ve even had to trouble shoot with janome and they had no idea and couldn’t help.

This is the best machine I've owned, it is so simple to use, works equally well with net, fleece material or leather and the automatic buttonhole stitch is amazing. I cannot praise this machine highly enough and it has helped renew my enthusiasm for sewing. Thank you Janome and GUR.

In the unlikely event you experience a problem with your sewing machine, overlocker or embroidery machine for the duration of your warranty, please contact us via email quoting your order number and a brief description of the fault.

We will then arrange a telephone call with you to go through some simple diagnostics with you. Often this helps to rectify the problem over the phone quicker.
We will repair your machine as swiftly as possible. We will arrange to collect your product. Please retain your original sewing machine box and polystyrene inserts as this will ensure it is protected during transit.

Warranty Registration

There is no need to register your warranty.

Please keep your receipt as proof of purchase.

The product warranty is nontransferable should the machine be sold or given away at a later date.

What’s Covered? Bona-fide faults …. as per the manufactures guarantee.
What’s not Covered? Warranty excludes wilful damage, misuse, repairs caused by overuse or repairs made necessary use. Please note “consumables items” such as belts, bulbs, needle threaders, bobbin cases, loopers, overlock knives, needle plates, bobbins and needles etc as stated on the manufactures guarantee document, your warranty is deemed invalid if your machine has been used for commercial purposes.
