I ordered this sewing machine on Monday 21 December, with free next day delivery. I expected it to be delivered on Tuesday 22 December but it never came. When I called I was told it was out of stock and the staff member I spoke to couldn't be any nicer and was really apologetic. As a way of apology for a later delivery (Christmas eve) I was given a lovely soft carry bag for my sewing machine. Thank you for being very helpful. The sewing machine is great and runs like a dream.

I adore this machine! I took the time to travel down from Leeds to Birmingham as there was nowhere nearby with the same range of machines that I wanted to try.

When I arrived, the team set the machine up for me and took the time to show some of the unique features that I wasn't aware of, which was much appreciated. Service and delivery overall was excellent!

Onto the machine itself - it's my first computerised machine (stepping up from my Janome 525S) and is absolutely perfect for someone whose main use for it is dressmaking. I'm not a quilter and the machine name did leave me worried that I perhaps wasn't the target audience for it, but it's not the case.

So far I've made shorts, shirts, boxer shorts, cushions, bags and more - it sews through anything and the IDT is every bit as good as people rave about. The little details like thread tie-off and cutting are so nice to have and it makes the most fantastic buttonholes.

If like me you want the machine to make garments, I'd suggest investing in the following feet which don't come with it - Invisible Zip Foot, Button Foot and Narrow Edge Foot (brilliant for topstitching), as well as some extra bobbins.

I haven't used even half of the features of this machine yet but I have no doubt that it will serve me faithfully for many years. It is a bit of a thread snob and prefers Gutermann to anything else, but that's to be expected.

If you're thinking of investing in this, you won't be disappointed! I was choosing between this and the Janome 6600P and went for this in the end due to the free arm and it being slightly more portable. It also seemed more user-friendly in terms of the menu and operation - but both are fantastic machines.

Here are a couple of things you could address (these are not complaints but offered in the spirit of making a good service better):

1. Your ordering system doesn't take account of the possibility that the person paying for the machine is not the same as the person to whom it should be delivered. I e-mailed you about changing the name on the package but you didn't read the e-mail until after the package had been dispatched. As it turns out the package did arrive safely. It's great that you ship so quickly but you should read your e-mail too!

2. When I clicked on your "testimonial" link it took me to a form where I would have to fill in all my contact details to leave a testimonial. If you want testimonials, make it easy for people to leave them.

I don't normally leave reviews but this was excellent service from start to finish. Also, the price of the embroidery hoops compared to everyone else is brill.

Order on a Friday for delivery on Saturday but received an email to say it was going to be delivered on the Monday which was inconvenient. Received another email on the Saturday morning to say it was being delivered on the Saturday afternoon after all which was great. Just need to get your delivery days a bit more organised, but other than that great. Thanks very much.

The above item has not arrived yet but what I like about your company is that you keep us informed about the availability/or not of the items ordered. You then give the option of money refunded or waiting until the item becomes available. Very good customer service.

Lovely staff and whilst I hadn't intended to spend quite as much money on a machine, the advice I received at GUR led me to buy the Pfaff passport 2 which I absolutely love. This is my first machine but whilst it is very easy to use, it would be equally suited to more experienced users.

The machine arrived on the predicted day, the packaging was excellent.  As the machine is a Christmas present I haven't had a really good play with it.  However just to check it was what I wanted I spent a very happy  afternoon experimenting and I am not disappointed.  Very good service and have recommended to my craft group.

Excellent service from GUR on sales and delivery, arrived very quickly although delivered to France. It's a long time since I had a new machine so I'm taking it slowly and getting used to everything. So far all good, although I'm getting some looping when using the reverse button (that could easily be the user) and when bobbin winding the machine hasn't stopped automatically so far.Very pleased with all the cottons and other bits and pieces. Not tried any of the fancy stitchess yet, as I said I'm taking it slowly, but definitely a worthwhile purchase.

I purchased this machine as had been looking around and it had great reviews si I placed and order with gur sewing machines about 4pm and it arrived before 9am the next morning was expecting to be waiting in all day but so happy it came early. It's a brilliant machine so easy to set up made a few pieces for home and some Christmas aprons and I really am enjoying my new hobby, would like to buy the embroidery machine next so hopefully Santa can sort that for me lol, overall a great company and great machine can't fault anything

I can't recommend this company highly enough. Have been dealing with them for nearly 30 years. I've had several machines over time and am currently using a Janome 12000 which is fantastic and have just taken delivery of the Pfaff Passport machine to take to classes with me. I'm really happy with it. The prices are always very competitive. The service you get from this family business is excellent.

My dealings with G.U.R throughout the entire purchase process were great, I received prompt and polite & exceptionally helpful service from everyone I dealt with along with speedy delivery.

As for the machine, I was so excited waiting for it to arrive. Once it did I unpacked it all to check it as, there was (what turned out to be) superficial damage to the box - all present and correct I read the manual, looked at all the parts and then put it away for a week as I was terrified of using it.

I had no reason though, once I finally worked up the courage to switch it on & have a go, it was so simple to use - following the thread guides/dvd threading is easy to do and the possibilities for use are vast. I can't wait to get started on my multitude of projects as this machine will speed things up and give them that professional finish.

With all the extras received with this its a definite bargain & I'm sure I'll have years and years of happy sewing with it.

I am Sheila Belcher, and last week I called your office (I am a regular customer) as I had a problem with the free motion foot on my Janome 8900QCP. Janome UK were less than helpful when I had phoned them, they promised to call back and didn;t, so I called you - who had supplied my machine and accessories. I can't thank you enough for your patience, your help, your product knowledge, and for solving my problem with the feet attachments.

I also approached Janome UK stand at the Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace on Saturday, 10th October, and they "were too busy at the time to help me, as it would mean tying up a machine for a potential customer". I felt somewhat insignificant. I own 3 Janome machines, and if I was in the market for buying another, this lady would have put me off immediately.

Thank goodness I have GUR. I thank you sincerely for your help, I wouldn;'t go anywhere else for any sewing machine or accessory I wanted, and I have recommended you for your products, the good prices, and excellent service.

Even though I live in Denmark the machine arrived pretty quickly (I think I ordered in Monday night and it arrived on Thursday). Unfortunately upon setting it up I couldn't get it to work. I called customer support and they tried to help me both over the phone and via e-mails. I would send videos of what the machine was doing and they would suggest things for me to try. In the end I had to pack the machine up and send it back but it was picked up at the door and its replacement arrived a day after pickup and works just fine! Overall I am really glad that I ordered from here, even though I had to wait for the replacement machine, the service was top notch, would definitely order from here again.

Whatever the query, GUR have always responded with the utmost courtesy and professionalism. My recent order was, unfortunately, not in stock but I was sent an email immediately notifying me of the problem and a promise to let me know as soon as it was back in stock. A follow up email informing me that my account had been refunded and an apology that they were unable to fulfill the order. This is the high standard that I have come to expect from them. Earlier this year they took on the repair of my small, old portable sewing machine and I was kept informed of every step they took in its repair and subsequent delivery. Considering I do not live in the U.K. their service and dedication is impressive. I look forward to doing business with them again soon.

I was connected to a very polite courteous young man who spent time to find out exactly what I was wanting and the goods were received within a few days.
